Bethany Nowak Ties for First as Saints Claim Second at Lourdes Spring Invitational

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights women's golf team finished second at the Lourdes Spring Invitational held on Thursday at The Legacy Golf Club. The Saints finished with 364 to claim the second spot in the team standings.

NCAA Division III Kalamazoo claimed the top spot in the tournament with a team score of 357. The Saints were the top finishing member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) with a second-place showing. Madonna was third with a 365, while Aquinas claimed fourth with a 383. Tiffin fell fifth with a 384. Cleary (393)  beat out host Lourdes, who was seventh with a  397. Rochester closed out the team scores with a 499.

Bethany Nowak tied for first place with a score of 82 for the afternoon. Reigning Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's golfer of the week, Skylar Whitman, finished fourth with an 84, while teammate Chelsea Kovoch was 18th with a 96. Isabelle Sparks tied for 27th with a 102 as she edged out Megan Paczas, who tied for 33rd with a 104. Emma Murphy competed as an individual and finished tied for 42nd with a 112.

UP NEXT

The SHU women's golf team travels to Battle Creek, Michigan, for the two-day LTU Battle at Bedford Valley this Monday, April 11. The tournament will take place at Stonehedge North for both days of competition.
