Saints Improve Two Spots in Round Two for Fifth at Defiance

WAUSEON, OHIO -- The Siena Heights women's golf team jumped two spots at the conclusion of the final round of the Defiance College Invitational at Ironwood Golf Courses in Wauseon, Ohio. The Saints improved the team score by nine strokes from round one to two with a 322. Madisyn Reed (Adrian, Mich.) finished the tournament in third with a total score of 153 (+9).

Jaclyn Fanola (Monroe, Mich.) tied for 20th with a tournament total of 164 (82+82). Mya Price (South Lyon, Mich.) completed round two by topping her first-round score by four strokes with an 83 to finish 28th, 10 spots better than her round-one placing. Bethany Nowak (Britton, Mich.) shot 12 strokes less than yesterday as she jumped 17 spots to tie for 30th with a tournament score of 172 (92+80). Gabrielle Anderson (Fraser, Mich.) was 37th with a 175 (86+89) to complete the Saint scores.

The Siena Heights B team finished 11th with a team total of 741. Emily Witaszek (Temperance, Mich.) was the team's top finisher, tying for 42nd with a 179 for the tournament.

The women's golf team will travel to compete in the Concordia Invitational on Monday, September 16 at the Washtenaw Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
