WAUSEON, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's golf team finished the first round of the Defiance College Invitational at Ironwood Golf Course with a team score of 331 (+43) for seventh place. Madisyn Reed (Adrian, Mich.) finished second in the individual standings with a 76 (+4).

Jaclyn Fanola (Monroe, Mich.) was six-strokes back from Reed with an 82 (+10). Gabrielle Anderson (Fraser, Mich.) shot an 86 (+14) while Mya Price (South Lyon, Mich.) recorded an 87 (+15). Bethany Nowak (Britton, Mich.) registered a 92 (+20) to finish off the scores for the team.

The Siena Heights B squad consisting of Emily Witaszek (Temperance, Mich.) (85, +13), Sorina Grech (Rochester Hills, Mich.) (90, +18), Chelsea Kovoch (Rockwood, Mich.) (94, +22), Taylor Minto (Davison, Mich.) (96, +24), and Lindsey Darby (Perry, Mich.) (103, +31) finished 10th out of 12 teams with a team score of 365 for the round.

The tournament resumes tomorrow (Sept. 8) at 9:00 a.m., EDT.
