Women's Basketball Holds Off Late Cleary Surge

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team held off a late Cleary rally to win, 46-43, in WHAC action on Wednesday night at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Brooke Rebman scored 14 points to lead the Saints' offense. Sarrinah Ajami made eight rebounds while Jam Thigpen and Alexx Braddock grabbed six each.

Braddock also had two blocks, Thigpen made four steals and E'Anna Won dished four assists.

After falling behind 5-0, Siena Heights outscored the Cougars 22-8 the rest of the first half. Thigpen and Rebman had five points apiece in the first two quarters.

The Saints (12-8, 9-3) stretched their lead out to 41-20 early in the fourth quarter before a 24-2 Cleary run forged a 44-43 score.

Emma Tooley hit a pair of free throws and then Siena Heights held the Cougars on their final possession to secure the SHU win.

Siena Heights will play next on Saturday with it hosts Indiana Tech for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
