
ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team fell to WHAC opponent Indiana Tech, 48-41, in its home opener on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.
Kayla Hinton led the Saints (0-2, 0-1) with a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 12 rebounds. E'Anna Won added nine points and seven rebounds while leading rebounder Olivia DeLong grabbed nine boards.
Siena Heights jumped out to an 8-2 lead, but Indiana Tech answered to take a 16-11 edge through one quarter.
The Warriors (3-1, 1-0) led by as many as 10 points before chipping away to make the contest a one-possession game. Won made a layup with 4:38 to go, trimming the Saints' deficit to 42-39, but SHU only mustered two points after that.
SHU will return to action on Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. WHAC game at Lourdes.
