Knannlein Comes Off Bench to Lead SHU Women
ADRIAN, Mich. -- Alexxis Knannlein scored 22 points off the bench and the Siena Heights women's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with its 83-62 victory over Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Lawrence Tech on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Grace Howrigon and Morgan Warfield added 15 points apiece while Sierra Calhoun and Jen Jasinski came through with 10 each. Howrigon also had five assists while Jasinski hauled down nine rebounds.

The Saints (6-5, 3-4) jumped ahead with the game's first five points and led the rest of the way. A 7-0 run, finishing with a 3-pointer by Warfield, helped SHU take a 14-5 lead early in the first.

Howrigon buried a three in the waning moments of the first half, putting the hosts ahead, 41-28, at halftime.

Lawrence Tech (5-6, 3-4) trimmed its deficit to seven points at 47-40, but could not push any closer. Siena Heights twice led by as many as 23.

Allison Bicknell, Jackie Hood and Jazmine Brown scored 11 points each for the Blue Devils. Maegan Branham had eight rebounds.

Siena Heights will play its next contest on Tuesday when it visits NCAA Division III member Alma for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
