ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team split a non-conference doubleheader against Saint Francis (Ill.) on Saturday at Christensen Memorial Softball Field. The Saints earned a 5-4 win and then lost 7-4.

Siena Heights had a previously scheduled twinbill for Sunday against Olivet, but those games have been canceled.

A pinch-hit, two-run single by Brooklyn Ross gave the Saints a 5-4 lead in the sixth inning and, then, winning pitcher Shyann Truax finished the contest.

Lee Clinton had a home run and two stolen bases. Liberti Fair also stole two bases.

A double-steal by Fair and Clinton helped SHU take a 1-1 advantage in the first inning as Clinton scored. Fair crossed the plate later in the inning on an RBI single by Truax.

Saint Francis took a 4-2 edge in the fourth, setting the stage for SHU's three-run comeback in the fifth.

Clinton sparked the inning with a solo homer before Ross plated two with her hit.

Truax went the distance, allowing five hits. She was not charged with an earned run. She had three strikeouts and two walks in her final appearance at Christensen Memorial.

Clinton scored on a wild pitch to open SHU's scoring in the first inning and then cranked a homer to left-center in the third, pulling SHU into a 3-2 deficit.

Saint Francis pushed its lead back to 4-2 before a Fair single tripped the lead to 4-3 in the fifth.

The visiting Fighting Saints tacked on three runs in the seventh, pushing their advantage to 7-3.
