14 Students and Softball Team Named NFCA Scholars

Fourteen student-athletes on the Siena Heights Softball Team were named NFCA Scholar Athletes for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) recognizes students who earned a 3.5 or greater grade point average during the two semesters of the academic year.  The Saints saw 14 students receive this honor.  Those students were Faith Breinager (2nd time), Courtnee Chappetta (3rd time), Lauren Dioszegi (3rd time), Emma Fair (1st time), Carly Grassley (2nd time), Erin Groom (2nd time), Julia Hogston (4th time), Riley Hoover (2nd time), Aila Johnson (2nd time), Mack Lane (1st time), Emma Marshall (3rd time), Kelsey Speer (1st time), Ellie Thelen (2nd time), and Shyann Truax (3rd time).

The Saints team was also honored as an NFCA Scholar Team for the 2023-2024 academic year.  In order to be honored with that award, a team must earn a 3.25 team across their entire roster.  The Saints earned the team award for the 10th consecutive year (no awards were given during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic), one of only two NAIA schools who have earned the award since it's inception in the 2013-2014 academic year.
