FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team won both ends of a WHAC doubleheader at Michigan-Dearborn on Sunday, winning 2-1 and 9-4.

The Saints will be back in action Monday with a 3:30 p.m. WHAC twinbill against Indiana Tech.

Game one: Siena Heights 2, Michigan-Dearborn 1

Shyann Truax went the distance, falling two outs short of a complete-game shutout. She gave up one run on five hits while recording four strikeouts and two walks.

Sacrifices pushed across SHU's two runs. Truax hit a sacrifice fly to the shortstop to plate Julia Hogston, who raced home on the short fly along the left-field line in the first inning.

During the sixth, a sac bunt by Ally Frank plated pinch-runner Kennedy Keller.

A solo homer by Dearborn spoiled Truax's shutout in the seventh.

Game two: Siena Heights 9, Michigan-Dearborn 4

Truax was the winning pitcher again, tossing four innings of relief. She did not allow an earned run and struck out three batters. Starter Jordan Green worked the first three innings before she was taken out. She had one strikeout and one walk.

Ellie Thelen finished 2-for-4 with a double, run and four RBI. Kat Moreau also had a two-hit game and scored two runs. Avery Schellenberger added two hits and one run.

Emma Marshall and Faith Breinager drove in two runs each.

The Saints fell behind 2-0 after the first two innings. They erupted for six runs in the third on two-run singles by Thelen, Breinager and Marshall.

The host Wolverines plated single runs in the fourth and fifth frames, trimming their deficit to 6-4.

Siena Heights scored the last three runs -- two on a sixth-inning double by Thelen and one on a seventh-inning single by Hogston.
