LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes awards this afternoon. The Saints finished fourth in the top-10 team GPA list with a 3.642.

Lily Guerra (Rockford, Mich.), Sam Hill (Willis, Mich.), and Milah Loose (Kewadin, Mich.) are each two-time NFCA Scholar-Athletes with their inclusion on the 2021 list. Ally Frank (East Tawas, Mich.), Jordan Green (LaSalle, Ontario), Alexis Hirst (Clinton Township, Mich.), Julia Hogston (Dundee, Mich.), Janelle Krueger (Ravenna, Mich.), Kat Moreau (Montague, Mich.), Brenna Nurenberg (Alto, Mich.), Lyndsey Pena (Macomb, Mich.), Haley Rose (Napoleon, Mich.), Bre Schmidt (Clarkston, Mich.), Sam Spicer (Monroe, Mich.), and Emily Spinek (Sterling Heights, Mich.) each earn the honor for the first time in their collegiate careers.

"Our students continue to work exceptionally hard in the classroom to earn these honors as individuals as well as for our team," said SHU head softball coach Laura Klutsarits. "We have continued to excel in the classroom throughout challenging times and I couldn't be more proud of our team which consistently embodies the term student-athlete."

A record-setting 8,800 student-athletes were named to the 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes list. It is the second consecutive year that more than 8,000 athletes earned the honor. The team rankings and individual honors are submitted by member head coaches and recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the association's membership categories.

Siena Heights was one of four schools in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) with the highest team GPA's in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Madonna made the team GPA list in eighth, Aquinas was 15th, and Lawrence Tech was 23rd.
