
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Siena Heights multi-eventer Holden Van Poppel placed fourth for All-American honors during Friday's competition at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which are taking place at the Alachua County Sports and Event Center at Celebration Pointe.
Van Poppel entered the day in the No. 2 spot and started off strong with a second-place showing in the 60-meter hurdles, timing in at 8.37 seconds (891 points). His pole-vault mark was 14th at 12 feet, 1 1/2 inches (3.70 meter) for 535 points and his 1,000 run time of 3:00.28 was good for 13th and 662 points.
Van Poppel finished the heptathlon with 5,117 points.
Jordan Harris also competed Friday for Siena Heights, taking 11th place in the weight throw with a distance of 58-3 (17.75m).
The NAIA Championships will finish Saturday as pole vaulter Alan Alston competes for the SHU men.
