GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Matthew Gipple hit an NAIA provisional-qualifying mark while winning the long jump at the Davenport Panther Classic, which took place on Friday and Saturday.
Gipple stretched 23 feet, 9 inches (7.24 meters) in the event. He also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.01 seconds.
Savion Tyler and Noah Cunningham were also event-winners. Tyler cleared 6-5 1/2 (1.97m) in the high jump and Cunningham threw the javelin 156-4 (47.65m).
