ADRIAN, Mich. – Siena Heights junior thrower Zachary Gipple was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week when the league office announced the weekly award winners on Monday afternoon.
Zach set a B Standard at the Monday Meet in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before improving on that mark at home with an A standard mark of 15.99m to win the event. His winning shot of 15.99m currently ranks 13th in the NAIA.
This is the third WHAC athlete of the week award for Gipple, the second of the 2022 outdoor season.
The Saints are scheduled to compete at the Elaine Leigh Invitational this Friday and Saturday, April 22-23 at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
