Grand Rapids, Mich. – Men's Track and Field takes second in the WHAC vs. MIAA challenge Friday, February 11th. The Saints had 27 top ten finishes, seven being first places marks for a team total of 121 points, just four points behind first-place Aquinas College.
SHU saw a first place in the 600-meter race with Abdullah Nassr running a 1:23.62 and a fourth-place mark from Andrew Milosalevski clocking in at 1:26.72. The blue and yellow took the top three spots in the 800m, with Jacob Harberts in first with 1:58.12, Cedric Grant in second with 1:58.68, and Joshua Cundy in third running in 1:59.58. The 1 mile also saw a first-place finish from Jacob Harberts with a total of 4:24.78. Liam Hartsuff claimed first in the 3000-meter with a time of 9:09.69 while Nethanel Leopold placed seventh with 9:47.04.
The Saints continued to see gold in the 4x400 with the team of Joshua Cundy, Cedric Grant, Jacob Sand, and Noah Cunningham having a total time of 3:29.10. Davion Curry continued his first-place streak in the long jump this week with a jump of 6.95 meters; making it his fourth straight competition to place first in the long jump. Curry also saw a third-place mark in the triple jump with a distance of 13.57m. The Saints saw three top-ten finishes in the shot put, with Zachary Gipple in first with a throw of 16.59m, Jefferson Edwards with 14.73m, and Sebastian Hamilton with 14.49m. Edwards and Hamilton also finished within the top ten in the weighted throw.
