ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team came out victorious 2-1 over non-conference opponent St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Thursday at O'Laughlin Stadium.
Christian Orta and Samuel Fernandez were the goal-scorers for the Saints, while Noah David recorded the only assist for the Saints on Orta's goal.
Marcelo Lopez was the winning goalkeeper, stopping six shots in 90 minutes.
St. Mary-of-the-Woods took the lead 1-0 early and held onto that lead going into halftime. In the second half, Christian Orta scored the game-tying goal in the 78th minute with Noah David assisting on the goal. In the 84th minute, Samuel Fernandez scored the go-ahead goal to give the Saints the lead at 2-1 to close out the game.
The Saints will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 11, with a 7 p.m. EDT game at Adrian College.
