ADRIAN, MICH. -- Gaizka Zandio scored the lone goal for Siena Heights as the Saints' men's soccer team played Northwestern Ohio to a 1-1 tie in its WHAC opener on Saturday at O'Laughlin Stadium.
The visiting Racers (1-5-2, 0-0-1) took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute before Zandio equalized in the 25th. Zandio scored via corner kick off the foot of Carlos Musoles.
SHU goalie Ricardo Moreno totaled seven saves.
The Saints (4-3-1, 0-0-1) will play next on Wednesday when they host WHAC opponent Cornerstone for a 7 p.m. game.
