HOW IT HAPPENED

The Cougars came out on their toes as Cole Russell netted a ball from Jacob Crull to give them a 1-0 lead in the 4:27 minute. The rest of the half would see no action as neither team was able to capitalize on their chances and Spring Arbor would head to the locker room with the lead. The Cougars edged the Saints seven to three in shots and five to zero on corner kicks in the first half.

Spring Arbor would dominate in the second half adding three goals to the board. Crull scored in the 54:38 minute of play. Brian D'Ascenzo scored off an assist from Crull in the 61:24 minute. James Hansen scored off an assist from Ben Besteman in the 69:58 minute of play. Jacob Wojciechowski (L, 0-1) (Freshman, Livonia, Mich.) would then come in for the Saints to relieve Leo Hisamatsu (Senior, Osaka, Japan) in goal. The final push for SHU to put themselves on the board came up short and would secure the Cougars a shut out win.
