Two Second Half Goals Lift Men's Soccer over Concordia

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team pulled out a 2-1 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory over Concordia, on Wednesday.

The Cardinals started the scoring in the 37th-minute as Phil Vrzovski finished a rebound off of a Jeff Thomas shot. Siena Heights fought back in the second half as Enoch Tsibu-Beckson ripped a Matt Lentine rebound home to tie it, 1-1.

Elmedin Celovich sent the winning-goal to the back off the net after Brent Rodden sent a pass through the center of the 18-yard box. SHU goalkeeper Andrew Kozan came up with a big save with less than one minute remaining in the match to help the Saints hold their 2-1 lead.

Justin Gray led SHU (3-5, 1-1 WHAC) with four shots as Tsibu-Beckson managed three. For the Cardinals, Dante D'Aloisio, Anthony Tucker and Thomas each took three shots.

Starting in net for the Saints was Morgen Gardocki, stopping three shots. Coming in at halftime for SHU was Kozan, who made four saves. CUAA (5-4, 0-2 WHAC) keeper Spencer Ward started in net, making five saves prior to being relieved in the 76th-minute by Marino Moracinni, who made one stop.

Concordia held a 18-14 shot and 6-3 corner kick advantage over SHU.

The Saints will return to action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. WHAC contest at Lawrence Tech, on Saturday.
