
ADRIAN, Mich. -- Siena Heights goalie Jakob Moske had a career-high 27 saves and surpassed the 400-career-saves mark as the Saints men's lacrosse team defeated Benedictine (Kan.), 14-11, in non-conference play Thursday at O'Laughlin Stadium.
Moske also secured six groundballs for the Saints (4-1) as he became just the fourth goalie in SHU men's lacrosse history with 400 saves. Moske now has 412 in his Siena Heights career.
Four different goalscorers had hat tricks for the Saints: Beau DeLauter, Lachlan Conway, Brandon Hammer and Joey Keck. Single goals were recorded by Sean Jablonski and Nathan Staley.
Conway added four assists while Hammer made three and Keck dished one.
Ethan Wissink as dominant inside the faceoff circle, winning 20 of 24 draws. He had 12 groundballs.
Siena Heights led the entire way after scoring the first two goals. The Saints held a 4-1 edge after the first quarter.
Benedictine pulled within one goal on three occasions -- 4-3, 11-10 and 12-11. Hammer had a key goal to push the lead to 12-10; Conway scored twice in 14 seconds to push the lead up to 14-11.
SHU will return to play on Saturday, March 22, with a 4 p.m. non-conference game at Mount Vernon Nazarene.
