Men's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. -- The Siena Heights men's lacrosse team claimed a 9-8 non-conference win over Montreat on Thursday.

Murdoch Bech led the Saints (3-0) with three goals. Six other SHU players had one goal each: Sean Jablonski, Beau DeLauter, Nathan Staley, Lachlan Conway, Joey Keck and Brandon Hammer.

Jablonski, DeLauter, Staley, Conway and Keck also had assists.

Victor Granchelli earned his first win in goal with 11 saves. In front of him, Wissink totaled 11 groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Hammer added six GBs and two CTs and Noah Holland had two CTs.

Jablonski and Joe Turner picked up five groundballs apiece.

The contest went into halftime tied 4-4 before goals by Hammer, Bech and Staley gave SHU a 7-5 edge through three quarters.

Montreat pulled within one goal three times after that, but the Saints held on.

SHU will return to play on Saturday with a noon contest at Tennessee Wesleyan.
