Men's Lacrosse Opens With Win Over William Woods

PONTIAC, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's lacrosse opened its season with a 15-13 victory over non-conference William Woods on Saturday at the UWM Sports Complex.

Murdoch Bech broke a 13-13 tie with 3:27 left in the fourth quarter and, then, Brandon Hammer added an insurance goal.

Sean Jablonski and Lachlan Conway had three goals and one assist each for the Saints (1-0).

Bech, Nathan Staley and Marco Papadelis added two goals apiece. Ethan Wissink, Beau DeLauter and Brandon Hammer also had goals.

Hammer made three assists and Wissink added two. Single assists were recorded by Caden Johnson and Nathan Staley.

Wissink led the Saints in groundballs with 15. Winning goalie Jacob Moske made 19 saves. Wissink was 18 of 26 in the faceoff circle.

The Saints will return to play on Thursday with a 7 p.m. non-conference home game against Ottawa (Kan.).
