The Siena Heights men's golf team competed in the O.C. Lou Collins Memorial Tournament on Friday and Saturday to open the 2017 season. 

In the first round the Saints shot a team score of 315 with Nick Sanscrainte leading the squad with a 77 followed by Aaron Bitz with a 79, Jimmy Monteith (79), Drew Whelan (82) and Alex Kowalenko (80). In round two, SHU completed the day with a 320 and Sanscrainte finishing with a team best, 75 followed again by Bitz (77), Monteith (82), Whelan (86) and Kowalenko (89).

Overall, Siena Heights finished with a total score of 635 which was good enough for a ninth place finish. SHU finished right ahead of Lourdes and Ancilla who tied for tenth with a team score of 636.

Next up, the Saints will head to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree No. 1 at Aquinas on Friday, Sept. 8.
