ADRIAN, Mich. -- Siena Heights University will be site for the Detroit Lions Girls Flag Football Academy, which is set to take place Sunday at O'Laughlin Stadium.

The traveling academy planned 24 stops over the 2024 summer with SHU, the first Michigan school to sponsor women's flag football, becoming the academy's 21st location of the summer.

At the clinic, girls are able to learn football skills and techniques, improve their understanding of the game of flag football and take all they've learned at their high school's PowderPuff games into Girls Flag Football seasons.

Positions taught inlude quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back. Taught concepts include offensive and defensive play calling, flag pulling and rules of the game.

Siena Heights flag football Jesse Siordia will be on hand at the clinic, as he has been at several other academy dates around the state of Michigan.

The camp will run 8:30 a.m. until noon on Sunday. Cost for registration is $35.
