Members of 2014 MSFA Mideast Championship Team to Reunite Saturday

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Members of the 2014 Siena Heights football team will reunite Saturday when the 2024 Saints take on Marian for an MSFA interdivisional contest at O'Laughlin Stadium.

Former SHU head coach Jim Lyall has invited members of the first MSFA Mideast championship team in school history back to campus. That year, the Saints had a 6-4 overall record and 5-1 mark in MSFA Mideast play to earn a share of the division crown along with eventual national runner-up Marian. SHU missed out on a bid to the NAIA Tournament via head-to-head tiebreaker with the Knights.

Siena Heights garnered several awards in the 2024 season, including 15 All-MSFA accolades.

Members of the All-MSFA First Team included Gauge Aebersold (OL), Trent Bragg (LB), Donovan Campbell (TE), Kyle Connors (DL), Raphael Dunson (RS), C.J. Marious (DL) and Darius Price (DB). Second Team performers were Nic Acton (LB), Reggie Blackmon (WR and RS), Jake Helsel (OL) and Cha'Quan Love (DB). Tyler Karcher (LB), Jordan Martin (DL) and Travis Zajkowski (QB) were named Honorable Mention.

Connors was also an NAIA All-America First Team performer. Lyall was selected as MSFA Mideast Coach of the Year and Matt Kohn, then-defensive coordinator and now-head coach, was the MSFA Mideast Assistant Coach of the Year.
