Saints Host Blue Devils in an MSFA Mideast League Game

THE GAME
The Siena Heights University Saints football team will look to win back-to-back MSFA Mideast League games for the first time this season when the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils come to town.

MSFA MIDEAST STANDINGS
SHU sits fourth in the league standings with a 2-1 record in Mideast play after the win over Madonna. The Blue Devils are 1-2 after a 35-14 loss to Indiana Wesleyan this past Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the third meeting between the Siena Heights football team and Lawrence Tech since the Blue Devils started football competing in the 2019 season. The Saints have won the first two matchups by multiple scores since the inaugural meeting at Lawrence Tech in 2019. The Saints walked away with a 41-20 win in that game. SHU and LTU didn't meet in 2020 due to COVID, but in the second meeting, Siena Heights won 44-7 last season.


LEADING THE SAINTS
Hayden Lehmann
has been the starting quarterback for the Saints since the homecoming win over St. Francis (Ind.). During that time, Lehmann has thrown for 615 yards and four touchdowns.

Kaleb Jefferson
leads the way on the ground for SHU. He had a monster game last week for the Saints as he compiled his first 100-yard rushing game of the season while scoring three touchdowns in that game as well. Jamon Benson II is the second-leading rusher with 312 yards and a touchdown this season.

Michael Guyton
and Eric Williams II lead the receiving corps with 22 catches. Guyton has 277 yards and three touchdowns, while Williams II has 243 yards and two touchdowns. Williams II is also the team leader in all-purpose yards with 610. In addition, he had a big week returning kicks with an 86-yard return at Madonna.

Kole Murlin
continues to lead defensively with 70 tackles. His 11.7 tackles per game rank fifth in the NAIA (1st in the Mid-States Mideast). Zach Keyser has 39 stops from the linebacker position. Joseph Wharton leads the team in sacks with six, while Vincent Walker leads with 14.5 tackles for loss and the second-most sacks with five.

Anthony Secchi
made his only field-goal attempt against Madonna last week. He is 6-8 this season with a long of 46 yards. He remains perfect in extra-point attempts, making all 17 in 2022. Andrew Bookman has pinned 13 opponents inside the 20-yard line. He has accumulated 1,135 yards punting for an average of 35.5 yards per boot. His season-long is 55 yards.

 

LEADING THE BLUE DEVILS

Tyler Kulka leads the way under center for LTU. He is completing 63.2% of his passes for 1,715 yards and 17 touchdowns. CJ Davidson is the leading rusher with 369 yards on 54 carries. Jaden Rembert and Kendyl Williams are the leading receivers with 32 and 30 catches, respectively. Rembert has 505 yards and one touchdown, while Williams has 442 yards and a team-leading seven scores.

Linebacker Tommy Lappin leads the defense with 49 tackles, two sacks, and an interception. Ryan Crowley has 39 stops, 4.5 tackles for loss, and a pick. Nick Ryan and Jackie Johnson III lead the pass rush with 2.5 sacks.

Vincent Robinson has made his only field-goal attempt and remains a perfect 11-11 in point-after kicks. Brycetyn Hedden has pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line eight times while averaging 33.8 yards per punt. Christian Broaden leads in the return game with 160 yards on seven kick returns.
