15 Siena Heights Football Players Earned Spots on the 2019 MSFA All-Academic Team

MSFA ALL-ACADEMIC RELEASE

The Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) announced its 2019 All-Academic Team on Tuesday night. Jerrold King (Eastpointe, Mich.) highlighted the 15 Saint selections as the only player on the team to appear on the all-academic squad for the third time. Justin Carrabino (Monroe, Mich.) and Andrew Loria (Sterling Heights, Mich.) both were on the list for the second time. The rest of the SHU selections were Troy Kutcha (Jackson, Mich.), Cole LaFave (Rochester, Mich.), Nicholas Cominos (Macomb, Mich.), Kole Murlin (Celina, Ohio), Andrew McGaughy (Okemos, Mich.), Andrew Lyons (Linden, Mich.), Kendrick Green (Grand Blanc, Mich.), Nicholas Pagano (South Lyon, Mich.), Tyler Knecht (King Mills, Ohio), Jacob Lederman (Goodrich, Mich.), Hayden Sluder (Milford, Ohio), and Kyle Minder (Jackson, Mich.).

A record total of 226 student-athletes were named to the 2019 MSFA All-Academic Team. To be included on the All-Academic list, student-athletes must have maintained a 3.25 GPA and be a sophomore or higher. The total number of inclusions this season surpasses the previous record of 186 All-Academic members, set in 2016.

The Saints finished another historic season in which the team tied the highest win total set in 2018 with a 7-3 overall record. The complete list of MSFA All-Academic honorees can be found at the link provided above.
