Football Hosts Robert Morris (Ill.) in Second Game of Season

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The (RV) Siena Heights football team will host Robert Morris (Ill.) this week in a Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) crossover game.

The Saints opened the 2019 season with a home contest against (RV) Olivet Nazarene last week. Siena Heights was able to hang on for a 20-18 win after halting the Tigers two-point conversion attempt late in the fourth quarter. 
 
The Eagles are 1-0 after a 31-14 win over Taylor (Ind.) in the team's home opener last week.
 
This will be the sixth meeting between Siena Heights and Robert Morris (Ill.) in football. The Saints currently lead the series 5-0. This series has been close through most of the matchups as three of the five previous meetings have had a scoring margin of seven points or less. The 2018 meeting was the most lopsided decision as SHU defeated RMU 40-0 in Adrian, Michigan. Siena Heights is 3-0 at home against the Eagles.
 
The Saints split time last week at quarterback with Tyler Knecht getting the start. Knecht completed 11 of his 14 pass attempts (78.6%) for 89 yards and a touchdown. Troy Kutcha saw action behind center also, completing 4-5 passes for 44 yards. Jared Jordan rushed 15 times for 44 yards and a touchdown at tailback. Kaleb Jefferson rushed 21 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Pianki Abdul-Hakiym and Tim Brown each had five receptions to lead SHU in that category. Abdul-Hakiym totaled 62 yards receiving while Brown had 43 and a touchdown. 
 
The SHU defense was led by linebacker Nick Stalworth who totaled 14 tackles in the home-opening win. Griffin Sobol and Gabe Callery each tallied 10 tackles. Callery had one tackle for loss while Sobol added a fumble recovery. Logan Smith had seven tackles and forced a fumble. Trenton Morrow had two interceptions along with five tackles in the week-one contest.
 
On special teams, Anthony Secchi hit both of his PAT attempts in the game. Caleb Meister punted six times for 248 yards with a long of 67 yards to bring his average to 41.3 yards per punt. Cameron Thompson returned three kicks for a total of 71 yards.
 
Robert Morris (Ill.) is led by Quinn Kelly at quarterback. Kelly was 16-22 (72.7%) for 286 yards and a touchdown. He threw one interception and was sacked three times in his first game of the season. Ke'von Johnson led The Eagles running game with 142 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown. Edward Clark scored twice with seven carries. Nikolas Fisher and Keith Franklin each caught four passes. Fisher gained 98 receiving yards while Franklin added 96 yards and a touchdown.
 
Kenny Kirkland led the defense with nine tackles, one for loss. Kareem Hammond finished with eight tackles and a fumble recovery. Chris Shannon had seven tackles, an interception, and a pass breakup. Tyler Mitchell accumulated seven tackles as well. Savion Thompson recorded the only sack for RMU.
 
In the kicking game for the Eagles, Tyler Haase punted four times for 113 yards and a long of 42 yards. Omar Beltran made his only field goal attempt (44 yards) of the game while finishing 4-4 in PATs. Johnson returned two kickoffs for 72 yards including a 42-yard return. He also returned two punts for a total of six yards.
