
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights dance team placed third at the WHAC Championships, which took place Friday at Aquinas.
The Saints finished with a score of 82.16 after scoring an 81.3 in preliminaries and then an 82.43 during finals.
SHU finished behind champion Concordia (85.23) and runner-up Aquinas (84.02).
Siena Heights trailed only CUAA after prelims as the Cardinals opened with an 86.1.
Concordia held on with an 84.93 in the finals while Aquinas turned in the top performance of the round (85.77) to shoot up from fifth to second.
All-WHAC honorees were also named at the WHAC Championships; SHU had three honored on the First Team and two on the Second Team.
The quintet included First Team dancers Yani Johnson, Briana Ilg and Kaylee Begin. Kaya Robinson and Marissa Moreno were selected to the Second Team.
Academic All-WHAC selections were Robinson, Johnson, Hannah Smith, Lydia Smith, Kaitlyn LaVoy, Trina Arens and Giannina Romero Caballero.
LaVoy was also named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team.
