
ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team defeated Lourdes twice in a WHAC double-header on Saturday. SHU won the first game 3-1 and completed the sweep winning the second game 12-3.
The Saints will return to action on Sunday, April 13, at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. EDT at home against Indiana Tech in a WHAC doubleheader.
Game One: Siena Heights 3, Lourdes 1
Landon DeVaney led SHU going 2-for-3 at-bat with one RBI. Devin Eads added one hit and two RBIs.
Chase Molnar went the distance on the mound striking out six batters.
Lourdes scored first in the third inning plating an unearned run. In the bottom of the third, Eads hit an RBI double, and DeVaney recorded an RBI single to put SHU ahead for good.
Game Two: Siena Heights 12, Lourdes 3
Devin Eads, Gino Hutchinson, and Mil Ramsey all went 2-for-3 at the plate. Hutchinson recorded six RBIs.
Shilo Bernal Jr. worked the entire nine innings surrendering three runs while allowing eight hits and forcing five strikeouts.
After a scoreless first inning, the Saints plated two in the second with RBIs from Ramsey and Brock Olmstead.
Lourdes scored one run in the third before Hutchinson recorded a two-RBI double and Ramsey tallied an RBI double. In the fourth, Hutchinson homered to make it 8-1 SHU until Lourdes matched a home run in the sixth.
In the seventh, Ramsey hit another RBI single to make it 9-2. In the eighth, Lourdes scored one more run on a sacrifice fly, as SHU sealed it in the bottom of the eighth when Grinstead put SHU on the board with an RBI double. The Saints scored two more unearned runs.
