The following was printed on Jared Rose's HOF
plaque:
The Siena Heights College soccer program was only in its third
season of varsity competition in 1985 when Jared Rose and a handful
of other talented California recruits came to play for SHU Hall of
Fame Coach Doug Mello. As a freshman striker, Rose led the
team in scoring and helped the Saints win the NAIA District #23 and
Area VI championships, advancing the team to their only appearance
at an NAIA National Soccer Championship.
During his four-year career at Siena Heights, Rose tallied 44 goals
(4th all-time) and had 104 total points, which ranks
fifth all-time in the Saints’ record books. At the time
of his induction, Jared is one of only five men’s soccer
players to score 100 or more points in the 21-year history of the
program.
In addition to the record-breaking 1985 season, Rose helped the
Saints capture NAIA District #23 championships in 1987 and
1989. He was named to three-time All-District and two-time
All Area team, as well as being named a National Catholic College
Academic All-American.
“Jared was one of the fastest players to ever wear the
Saints’ Blue and Gold, but what made him an outstanding
player was he had exceptional talent to compliment his
speed,” said former Siena Heights and current Luther College
soccer coach Doug Mello. “Jared scored many timely
goals for us in his career, and he’s a very deserving
inductee.”
