The following was printed on Scott McClure's HOF
plaque:
Scott McClure served as the Sports Information Director at Siena
Heights from 1989-2000 and is the third administrator to be
inducted in the ten-year history of the Siena Heights University
Athletic Hall of Fame.
During his tenure at Siena Heights, McClure also served as the
Media Director for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC)
from 1994-2000. He spent three years as an assistant coach
for the women’s basketball team and four years as an
assistant coach on the men’s team under NAIA Hall of Fame
coach Fred Smith.
In addition to his work with the Siena Heights athletic
department and the WHAC, McClure also served on the Executive
Committee of the NAIA Sports Information Directors Association
(NAIA-SIDA) and was the WHAC representative on the NAIA’s
Council of Affiliated Conferences & Independents (CACI) from
1997-99. In 1998, he served as the Media Coordinator/Venue
Press Chief for the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship
in Tulsa, OK.
McClure joined the NAIA National Office staff in 2000 as a
Championship Events Administrator and has supervised over 30
collegiate national championships and assisted at approximately
fifteen other national championships in the past eight years. In
addition to his championship administrative duties at the NAIA,
McClure has also served as the staff liaison to CACI, the
Association of Affiliated Conferences (AAC), the Association of
Independent Institutions (AII) and the NAIA Ratings Task Force.
