Becky Martinez helped the Siena Heights softball team win three
straight league titles and two conference tournament championships
during her three-year career as a catcher for the Saints. Coach Al
Sandifer’s club posted an overall record of 113-37 from
1994-96 with Martinez behind the plate. She was an
All-District #23 selection as a sophomore in 1994 and was named to
the All-Conference and All-Region teams in 1995 and 1996.
Martinez was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Player
of the Year as a senior in 1996. Her ’96 season
statistically ranks among the best of any Siena Heights player in
the program’s history. She batted .414 with 65 hits, 42
runs batted in, 12 doubles and five home runs.
