The following was inscribed on Adam Hartle's Hall of Fame plaque:
Adam Hartle became the Saints’ first NAIA All-American pole vaulter as a sophomore in 2004 at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships at Cardinal Park in Louisville, Ky. Hartle’s vault of 16’ 1 ¾” helped the Saints finish in thirteenth place overall at the 2004 national championships. Hartle was a four-time national qualifier in both the indoor and outdoor national championships and earned NAIA All-American honors four times for the Saints. At the 2005 NAIA Indoor National Championships in Johnson City, Tenn., Hartle became the Saint’s first pole vault national champion with a height of 16’ 8.75”. His championship vault established personal and school records at the time. The SHU men’s track & field team finished in 12th place at the 2005 indoor championships and Hartle accounted for ten of the team’s fifteen total points. Hartle closed out his outstanding track & field career with a pair of All-American performances during his senior season in 2006. He placed third at the NAIA Indoor National Championships with a height of 16’ 0.75”, and was third again in the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in Fresno, Calif., with a height of 16’ 6.75”. Hartle literally set the bar for future NAIA All-American pole vaulters at Siena Heights University.
