The following is inscribed on Perry Gilbert's Hall of Fame Plaque:
In the storied and successful history of Siena Heights University men’s basketball, Perry Gilbert holds the distinction of being the last Saint to be named the conference Player-of-the-Year during the Coach Fred Smith era. He also earned 2nd Team NAIA All-America honors, ranking him amongst the top 20 players in the nation during his final season for the Saints. In his sophomore season, Gilbert was named Co-Most Improved Player on a Saints’ team that won the regular-season title in the WHAC and advanced to the second round of the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament. Gilbert earned All-Tournament Team honors in eight pre-conference tournaments during his final two years for the Saints, including garnering Most Valuable Player honors as a senior by leading Siena to Maple City Classic title. Perry earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors in his junior season and was a 1st Team selection in his senior season. He was also named to the All-WHAC Defensive Team as a senior in 2006. At the time of his induction, he ranks #7 all-time in both scoring and rebounding with 1,457 points and 715 rebounds. Perry also ranks in the top twenty all-time in Saints’ history in steals and blocked shots.
