Four Individuals, One Team Comprise 2020 SHU Athletic Hall of Fame Class

ADRIAN, Mich. – Siena Heights University announced that four individuals and one team comprise the 2020 class of the SHU Athletic Hall of Fame. 

The class includes Luke Pawlaczyk (men’s track and field), Lloyd Cowles III (men’s basketball), Stacey Koehler (women’s soccer) and James Woolsey (baseball) and the 1992 softball team. All will be inducted on Oct. 2, 2020, at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet as part of Homecoming Weekend. 

The following are brief descriptions of each of the inductees:

  • Pawlaczyk ’10 was an NAIA All-American multiple times and is a school record holder in the 600 (indoor) and 800 (indoor) meter runs. He was a member of the two-time NAIA national champion 3200 relay and was a key member of Siena Heights’ 2008 and 2009 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference champion indoor men’s track and field teams.
  • Cowles ’05 remains the program’s all-time leader in steals with 321 and was one of the more dynamic point guards in Siena Heights history. Finishing with 1,183 career points and 419 assists, he was a two-time first-team all-conference selection, a three-time all-conference defensive team member and a two-time NAIA honorable mention All-American.
  • Koehler ’04 was a two-time all-conference performer and an honorable mention NAIA All-American in 2002 during her two-year career. She led the women’s soccer team to conference and regional titles in 2002 and finished with 15 career goals and 25 career assists.
  • Woolsey ’87 was a four-year starter for the baseball team, earning first-team NAIA All-District 23 honors in 1984. The infielder was also team MVP in 1984 and finished his career with a .350 batting average, 18 home runs, 43 doubles, and 124 RBI.
  • The 1992 softball team finished with a 34-9 record, the best winning percentage in program history. The Saints finished runners-up in the NAIA District 23 Tournament. Under head coach Al Sandifer, the Saints compiled a .318 team batting average and allowed just 58 earned runs in 43 games.

The 2020 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place during Homecoming weekend on (FRIDAY/SATURDAY) night, October (2/3) at (TIME).
