SHU Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at WHAC Championships

TOLEDO, OHIO -- The Siena Heights women's cross country team placed fourth at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships held in Toledo, Ohio, on Friday afternoon. The Saints totaled 130 as a final score to claim the fourth spot in the team standings. 

Cornerstone won the event with 30 points. Indiana Tech was 17 points back to claim second place, while Aquinas was third with 58 points. SHU was 12 points better than Lawrence Tech, who was fifth. Michigan-Dearborn claimed sixth with 168. Madonna was seventh, and Lourdes was eighth. Rochester and Concordia were ninth and 10th on the team leader board.

Xochitl Garcia led the way for the Saints as she finished just three spots out of earning all-conference with a time of 20:09.8 for 17th place. Emily Monroe wasn't far behind as she completed the race in 21st with a time of 20:28.0. Morgan Turk finished 29th with a 20:46.3 finish. Ryann Jibson crossed the finish line with a career-best time of 21:03.1 to claim 34th. Isabelle Uganski and Bridgette Dudley finished 55th and 57th. Uganski's time was 21:42.6, while Dudley clocked in at 21:47.4 to round out the top seven finishes for the Saints.
