Women's Cross Country Finishes 7th at WHAC Championships; Four Saints Earn WHAC Honors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's cross country team finished seventh at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships on Saturday afternoon. The Saints totaled 195 points to claim the seventh spot in the team standings. 

Cornerstone took the top spot with 18 points, while Aquinas was second with 61. Indiana Tech fell third with 70 points, and Madonna was fourth with 127. UM-Dearborn totaled 166 points fifth to finish ahead of Lawrence Tech in sixth with 194. SHU was ahead of eighth-place Lourdes, with 224, Rochester in ninth with 247, Concordia (Mich.) with 248, and Cleary in 11th with 257.

Xochitl Garcia was SHU's top finisher with a time of 19:21 for 20th individually. Emily Monroe finished at 19:55 for 31st. Brianna Martin (20:39), Perla Reyes (20:46), and Isabelle Uganski (20:52) finished 47, 48, and 49th. Morgan Turk was 52nd with a time of 20:58, and Jezra Reyes was 55th with 21:31. Brooke Hildebrandt finished at 21:43, Alexis Cordle had a time of 21:46, and Haley Bier clocked a 21:56.

Cordle was the Saints representative on the WHAC Champions of Character team. She also was all-academic. Garcia, Monroe, and Turk joined her on the WHAC All-Academic squad.
