Women's Cross Country Places 7th at Lansing CC Invitational

LANSING, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's cross country team placed seventh at the Lansing Community College Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Saints registered a 214 team score to earn a place with the top-10 teams.

Oakland won the race with a team score of 36. Host Lansing CC finished second with a 64. Cleveland State scored a 78 for third while Calvin scored 143 for fourth. Grand Rapids CC placed fifth with 182 while Hope College was sixth with 197. SHU beat out Ferris State for seventh while the Bulldogs scored 221 for eighth. Lourdes (233), and St. Clair County CC (254) rounded out the top 10 in the team standings.

Xochitl Garcia led the way for Siena Heights with a time of 20:41.0 to place 30th. Isabelle Uganski (49th) and Emily Monroe (51st) were next to finish for SHU. Uganski had a time of 21:21.7 while Monroe clocked a 21:22.3. Brianna Martin placed 59th with 21:39.6 and Perla Reyes finished in 21:46.0 for 65th. Jezra Reyes (68th) and Morgan Turk (69th) finished back-to-back with times of 21:53.1 and 21:54.4. Emily Kilpatrick finished 88th in 22:37.4 while Haley Beier was 89th in 22:39.5. Brooke Hildebrandt finished 92nd with a time of 22:43.6.
