Johnson, Russo Pace #25 Women's Cross Country to Seventh in National Catholic Race

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The 25th-ranked Siena Heights women's cross country team placed seventh among 25 college division squads at the National Catholic Championships at Notre Dame (Ind.) on Friday.

Elaine Johnson was the Saints' top finisher, placing 19th among college-division runners and 68th overall (college and NCAA Division I combined). She had a time of 19:06 on the five-kilometer course.

Ashley Russo finished 31st in the college division with a time of 19:20. Lucia Alfaro was 50th in 19:53, Kristin Stobinski placed 62nd in 20:10, and Lauren McMahon took 73rd in 20:24.

Anna Rohrer of Notre Dame was the top finisher among 299 total runners. Se finished in 17:20.

Amanda Farrough of Lewis (Ill.) was the top runner of the college division, placing runner-up with a 17:32.

The Saints scored 235 points. Bellarmine (Ky.) was the winner of the college division with 56 points.
