Kim Berrington enters her 10th season at the helm of the Siena Heights women’s volleyball program. Berrington came to the Saints after 19 seasons as head coach for NCAA Division I program Eastern Michigan University.

In more than 25 years as a collegiate head coach, Berrington has a 664-508 record, including a 305-289 slate at EMU. She is the Eagles’ all-time leader in coaching wins while ranking fourth in conference wins among all Mid-American Conference (MAC) coaches. Berrington's record as the SHU women's coach is 170-97; she is 576-464 all-time in women's matches.

Berrington recorded her 600th win after the 2021 season-opening sweep of crosstown rival Adrian College. Her 170 wins as the Saint women's volleyball coach makes her the winningest coach in program history. Her SHU women's volleyball squad has qualified for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament every year during her tenure and accomplished its best finish in the WHAC in 2022 with an 18-2 record.

In her first year at the helm for the Saints, Berrington’s squads saw a drastic improvement, her women’s team had the 4th highest win total in SHU history, notching 21 wins, the most since 22 in 2002. Her men’s program’s 18 wins were the most in school history, surpassing the past two seasons' combined win totals. The men’s program saw its first winning season in school history as well as receiving votes in the National Poll for the first time.

During her tenure at Eastern Michigan, Berrington guided her teams to 12 winning seasons, including seven campaigns with 20-or-more victories. From 1999-2014, the Eagles qualified for the MAC Tournament in 15 of 16 seasons, winning the MAC West Division championship in 2005 and reaching the MAC Tournament final in 2013.

Berrington coached 26 All-MAC selections, six MAC All-Freshman Team honorees, three all-region performers, one MAC Defensive Player of the Year, and one MAC Setter of the Year. Her teams have also succeeded academically at a 100 percent graduation rate. Honors include over 40 Academic All-MAC, nine Academic All-District, and two Academic All-Americans. Eastern Michigan has claimed 15 American Volleyball Coaches Association Academic Team Awards, including awards in each of the past 11 seasons.

Berrington is no stranger to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference; she was the head coach for Concordia for four seasons from 1992-95. She totaled a 98-74 record and was a three-time WHAC Coach of the Year (1993-95). The Cardinals won two WHAC championships (1994-95), qualified for two NAIA Regional Tournaments, and were runner-up at the 1995 NCCAA Tournament. In August 2014, she was named to the Concordia Athletics Hall of Fame.

Berrington is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She later earned a Master’s degree in Physical Education at Eastern Michigan. She and her husband, Chuck, reside in Britton, Mich. Their daughter, Kelsey, was an all-conference setter at Valparaiso University.
