Norman Named First Team To Lead All-WHAC Women's Volleyball Honorees

Olivia Norman was named All-WHAC First Team, leading a quintet of Siena Heights women's volleyball players to be recognized by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference for their on-court play in 2023.

Teammates Aubrey BatesPayton Osborne and Kinsey Wagner were selected to the All-WHAC Second Team and Jessica Holsapple was named to the All-WHAC Freshman Team.

Norman is now a three-time All-WHAC honoree. She was previously named First Team in 2022 and both Second and Freshman Team in 2021. This season, she has 254 kills (2.59 per set) and 81 blocks (0.83 per set), ranking second on the roster in each category. Norman, appearing in 27 matches, also has 34 digs and eight assists.

Bates is a four-time All-WHAC performer. She was a First Team player in 2022 and 2021 and Second Team and All-Freshman performer in 2020. Bates leads the team with 933 assists (9.35 per set) and recently broke the program's record for all-time assists. Bates also ranks second on the team with 42 aces and third with 262 digs. Bates also has 99 kills and 40 blocks.

Osborne and Wagner are among three Saints that have played in all 31 matches to date. Osborne's Second Team honor is her first in the WHAC; Wagner is now a two-time All-WHAC honoree.

Osborne leads the SHU defense with 560 digs while also totaling 92 assists, 33 aces and six kills. Wagner is the team leader in total blocks with 89 while ranking third with 235 kills (2.06 per set). Wagner also has 54 digs, 14 aces and nine assists.

Holsapple has made an immediate impact in her first season at SHU, leading the squad with 56 aces while rating second in digs (266) and third in assists (107). Holsapple also has 58 kills and nine blocks.

The Saints had nine players named to the Academic All-WHAC Team: Bates, Norman, Osborne, Wagner, Lyndsey BenschoterKadie CarstenRachel HaftClaire VanDyke and Taylor Wegener. Wagner was selected to the WHAC Champions of Character Team.
