Women's Volleyball Takes Win Over Indiana Tech; WHAC Tournament Starts Wednesday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over WHAC regular-season champ Indiana Tech on Friday night. The Saints earned their second win over the Warriors with set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 30-28.

Devyne Eisenhauer led SHU with 14 kills and four aces while Kinsey Wagner totaled 11. Taylor Wegener and Kadie Carsten added nine kills apiece and Aubrey Bates made 41 assists.

On the defensive end, Payton Osborne led the way with 24 digs. Jessica Holsapple (19), Eisenhauer (16) and Bates (11) also finished with double-digit digs. Carsten, Wagner and Cailynn Sullivan totaled three blocks apiece.

The Saints trailed 22-21 in the first set before finishing with a four-point run, taking a 1-0 match lead.

After host Indiana Tech tied the contest at 1-1 in the second, the Saints earned another comeback point in the third, finishing with the set's final three points.

The Warriors (28-4, 18-2) nearly forced a fifth set, holding set point at 24-22, 25-24 and 26-25, before SHU finished off the match with back-to-back kills by Carsten.

Siena Heights (23-7, 15-5), which finished third in the WHAC regular season, will return to action on Wednesday when it hosts a WHAC Tournament quarterfinal.
