Women's Volleyball Holds Off LTU For Five-Set Win

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team thwarted a Lawrence Tech comeback attempt to take a 3-2 victory in WHAC competition on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse. Set scores, in favor of the Saints, were 25-21, 25-23, 14-25, 19-25, 15-8.

Olivia Norman had 15 kills and four blocks while Devyne Eisenhauer totaled 12 kills, 17 digs and three aces. Aubrey Bates added 48 assists and four blocks.

Also for SHU (19-7, 11-5), Kinsey Wagner tallied 11 kills, Taylor Schram finished with 10 digs and three aces and Payton Osborne made 18 digs.

Siena Heights jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Lawrence Tech dominated the next two sets.

SHU built a 17-10 lead in the first before holding off a late LTU rally. Then, in the second, the Saints answered a 22-21 deficit with a 4-1 stretch.

The visiting Blue Devils did not trail in the third or fourth set. They opened the third with a 6-1 run and the fourth with a 4-1 streak.

The Saints regrouped in the fifth with a 6-1 start, getting Eisenhauer's three aces in that stretch.

Siena Heights will return to action on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. match at WHAC opponent Northwestern Ohio.
