Women's Volleyball Earns Road Win at Rochester

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over WHAC opponent Rochester on Wednesday. Set scores, in favor of SHU, were 25-14, 15-14, 26-28, 25-21.

Olivia Norman led the Siena Heights offense with 14 kills and four blocks while Aubrey Bates compiled 35 assists, 11 digs and two aces.

Kinsey Wagner and Isabelle Kirkendall added eight kills each to the Saints' attack. Taylor Wegener finished with seven kills and 23 digs.

Also on the defensive end, Payton Osborne had 33 digs and Taylor Schram made 15.

The Saints flew through the first two sets before hitting turbulence in the third. SHU opened the first with a 3-0 run and added a nine-point streak later in the set to cruise to a 1-0 lead.

In the second, the Saints opened with a 5-0 stretch and led the rest of the way.

During the third, SHU held match point three times, but the host Warriors battled back to win the set.

The fourth included an 18-18 tie, which SHU broke to build a 22-19 edge. Rochester pulled within 22-21 before the Saints scored the final three points to close the match.

Siena Heights will return to action with a pair of matches this weekend, beginning with its Teal Attack game to benefit the battle against ovarian cancer on Friday. The Saints will host Concordia for a 7 p.m. WHAC contest that day.
