Bates Becomes All-Time Aces Queen as Women's Volleyball Sweeps Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep at WHAC opponent Cornerstone on Friday night. Set scores were 25-16, 25-14, 25-19.

Devyne Eisenhauer led SHU (17-5, 9-3) with 11 kills while Kadie Carsten put down six. Audrey Bates made 30 assists and Payton Osborne totaled 11 digs.

Bates also had two aces, increasing her career aces total to 162 to become SHU's all-time leader. She broke a tie with Ashley Hubbard, who had 160 in 2004-07.

The Saints trailed 6-2 in the opening set before taking the lead for good with a seven-point run. They never trailed in the second and then broke open a 14-13 set with seven consecutive points to pull away in the third.

SHU will return to action on Saturday with a 2 p.m. WHAC match at Aquinas.
