Women's Volleyball Runs Win Streak To Six

SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team overcame a one-set deficit to defeat Lourdes, 3-1, and claim its sixth-straight WHAC victory on Friday. Set scores, in favor of the Saints, were 28-30, 25-14, 25-18, 25-18.

Olivia Norman led SHU's net presence with 15 kills and five total blocks. Kinsey Wagner and Cailynn Sullivan added 11 and nine kllls, respectively.

Lyndsey Benschoter and Jessica Holsapple made 22 assists each. Holsapple added four aces while Benschoter struck two.

Payton Osborne held the back line with 26 digs. Devyne Eisenhauer had 12 and Taylor Wegener made 10.

SHU committed seven errors in the opening set and registered an 11.4 hit percentage in the first before going 34.0 the rest of the way.

The Saints followed that opener with an errorless second -- and hit percentage of 41.9 -- to forge a 1-1 tie. Benschoter held serve as SHU closed the set on a 7-0 run, making three assists and one ace along the way.

Holsapple was the server when Siena Heights went on a momentum-shifting, six-point streak in the third, as she had three assists in that stretch. In the fourth, the Saints broke a 12-12 tie with a 6-1 run and led the rest of the way.

SHU (14-4, 6-3) will play next on Wednesday when Indiana Tech visits the SHU Fieldhouse for a 7 p.m. match.
