Siena Overcomes Aquinas in 3-1 Victory

ADRIAN, Mich.–  The Siena Heights women's volleyball team defeated the Aquinas College Saints at home in the SHU Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon, three sets to one. The win makes Siena 11-2 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play and 16-7 overall.

Devyne Eisenhauer held 12 kills, two service aces, 16 digs, and three blocks in the match. Taylor Wegener tallied 11 kills on top of six digs and two blocks. Kinsey Wagner collected 11 kills along with two assists, two service aces, and five blocks. Olivia Norman was the fourth Saint to reach double digits kills with 10 total along with her three blocks. Aubrey Bates ran an efficient SHU offense picking up 42 assists, five aces, and 10 digs. Payton Osborne totaled 16 digs on top of two assists.

Off to a slow start, Siena fell behind in set one, digging a hole they could not overcome. However, turning play around Siena went into set two with newfound fire, earning multiple points per service run to defeat the visiting Saints 25-18. With the match tied at 1-1 SHU continued to control the momentum of the match as they swept through the third set with massive offensive plays. The fourth and final set was no different. Siena worked hard on defense to put away ball after ball. Controlling the service game was crucial in the Siena victory totaling 11 aces. Ending the match in a 3-1 Siena Heights victory.
