Siena Heights Puts Down Adrian Bulldogs in 3-0 Victory

ADRIAN, Mich.– The Siena Heights women's volleyball team continues to ride the win train in a 3-0 sweep over the Adrian College Bulldogs. During the match, Junior Libero Payton Osborne earned her 1,000 career digs. The win pushes the Saints into a 14-6 season record.

Aubrey Bates led Siena boasting one kill, two aces, four blocks, 13 digs, and 27 assists. Devyne Eisenhauer put down seven kills while tallying 10 digs and two services aces. Payton Osborne collected 17 digs to reach the 1,000 career dig mark and earned three aces during the match. Senior Victoria Nerkowski held two kills, three digs, and two blocks. Claire VanDyke earned one kill as did Cailynn Sullivan. Lila Splavec totaled one kill while SiAyera Boone picked up two kills and two blocks.

Starting off the match Siena fell behind the Bulldogs 10-14 but quickly making adjustments SHU turned the game around. During Eisenhauer's time from behind the line, the Saints caught up and took the lead. Not looking back the set ended with kills from Taylor Wegener and VanDyke along with an ace from Splavec.

Set two started with a strong offense that pushed Siena to a 6-1 lead. Furthering the momentum Siena put in new players who continued to put the ball away pushing the Saints to a 25-21 set-two victory. The third set would see the same level of play from the Saints. Now confidently in control of the match, Siena operated a strong offense thanks to amazing plays from the defense to close out the game and continue the winning streak.

Quote from Coach:

"The Adrian match is always a big cross-town rivalry. So, it's always nice to take care of business, and it's nice to play so many people and have so many positive numbers in the Stats. But again, I think we limit our mistakes and take care of the ball control and we have offensive to have offensive everywhere. It was a good team effort."
