Siena Earns Third WHAC Victory, in 3-0 Match Against Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Siena Heights women's volleyball team traveled North to Grand Rapids, Michigan. To take on the Aquinas College Saints in the second game of the weekend. Siena Heights defeated Aquinas 3-0, increasing SHU's conference record to 3-1.

Olivia Norman tallied 12 kills, two digs, and four blocks during the game. While Devyne Eisenhauer and Kinsey Wagner each collected 11 kills and a combined 12 digs. Junior Setter Aubrey Bates picked up 34 assists on top of three kills, three service aces, five digs, and two blocks.

Jumping to an early 5-0 leads the Navy and Yellow led set one until Aquinas tied the game at 15-15. Setting off a battle for control that saw back-and-forth points and long rallies, as the two teams went past the 25-point mark to end the set 27-25 in favor of Siena.

Now in a groove, Aquinas started set two off strong thanks to attacking errors on the visiting Saints side. Siena put in the work to overcome the deficit to come back and beat the home team 25-22, leading the matchup 2-0.

The early points of set three saw nine ties. However, SHU created space during Wagner's serve and widen to point difference with Bates behind the line. Huge kills from Wagner, Bates and Norman closed out the match with a 3-0 SHU victory.

"We didn't play our cleanest match today, but we found a way to win. I thought our middle blockers were huge for us when we needed a block or kill. Both matches were a battle. The WHAC will be tough every week!!!!
