Adrian, Mich. -  The Siena Heights women's volleyball team defeated the Madonna University Crusaders 3-0, a huge win for the program that ended a nine-year drought. With set scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-15 the Saints roll into their second conference win of the season, after a

monumental sweep at home.

SHU, 3 vs. Madonna, 0

Kinsey Wagner led SHU with six kills, one assist, four digs, and four blocks. While Taylor Wegener, Devyne Eisenhauer, Olivia Norman, SiAyera Boone, and Aubrey Bates each racked up five kills. Libero Payton Osborne collected eight digs, while Bates tallied 25 assists. As a team, the Saints totaled 31 kills, six errors, six aces, 33 digs, and 14 blocks.

Starting set one off with a fiery start Siena quickly jumped to an early run. Battling for control the two teams traded points until the early teens. SHU took off on a 17-14 lead after a kill from Norman brought the serve back to the home team, who collected back-to-back points to seal the first set as a Saints victory.

Set two saw similar action, Wagner served first and rallied the team to a 5-0 lead. SHU never took their foot off the gas and continued to maintain the momentum of the game. Similarly, the third set saw an early lead from Siena grow into a large point deference that carried on thanks to massive kills and big blocks from the home team that ended the match as a 3-0 sweep.

Quote from Coach: "I don't care how we play if we have six attack errors. In a three-set match, we are going to be successful. I thought our attackers did a great job, and our blockers did a great job, but it all starts with serving and passing. I think we out-served them. We did a great job. They had no aces, we passed great and that was crucial for us."
